Wanted: Jeans that FIT
I was a young college student who was walking around with a ton of extra baggage. Both physically and emotionally. I was eating my way through a long relationship that was going sour. I was walking around campus in jeans that were size 14. AKA... the biggest size jean I had ever worn. This might seem average to some people... but I was a dancer. I was not supposed to be walking around in a size 14 jean. I was supposed to fit in... tall and slender... like all the other dancers I knew.
Now... I have lost the 30 pounds and even a few pounds more. I am up to 33 pounds lost...and I've kept it off! Woohoo!
So now... I am a little bit older, still in college... and walking around in a size 6/8 jeans. But I just have one major problem.
NO STORE IN THE WORLD MAKES JEANS THAT FIT MY BODY TYPE!
Like... now that I've lost weight... I have lost most of my "tummy" and I have a very small waist.
BUT... I have HUGE, and thankfully MUSCULAR legs that are fortunately very toned and "dancer-ish" looking. FINALLY!
Although, this does not help me with fitting into jeans. I could put on a size 8 jean and have it fit great around my legs and be HUGE around my waist.
So I go down a size, to a size 6... and sometimes they will be so tight around my thighs and just fitting right around my waist.
Belts have become my new best friend. Too bad I left my one and only belt at school so that when I went out last night, I kept having to pull my pants up every 5 seconds. You know, those pants that you can take off without unzippering or unbuttoning them. Which, sounds great maybe to some people. But it gets SO annoying.
Does anyone else have this problem?
My main stores for jeans are New York and Company and Gap. Although Gap is notorious for the whole "big around the waist, tight around the legs" deal.
So. I am on a quest. A hunt. A journey. To find the right pair of jeans for my body. Jeans that fit me like a glove. That is my mission. I'll update you on how that works out for me. It seems as though this is going to be quite the journey.
=)
Keep smiling,
Karla =)

TGIF!
January Something…
A black saab with three
Black painted rims
Picked her up one cold winters night.
The low, rumbling engine sounds came flying
Through her bedroom window.
She fluffs her hair,
Smoothes out the wrinkles in her dress,
And opens the door before her prince has a chance to knock.
An anxious voice apologizes for being 17 minutes late.
She smiles.
No mention of her new dress,
Blue to match his eyes.
She gently wraps her right arm around his left,
And the boy escorts his princess to his chariot.
Forgetting to open her car door, he never did master chivalry.
The restaurant was a 38 minute drive away,
But they only drove for 12.
A crater swallows the wheel of their chariot.
On the side of the road,
While the boy mends his steed,
She smiles.
Shivering cold on the street curb,
Goes unnoticed, as he tends to his wheel,
Forgetting to remove his jacket for her warmth.
Though sitting, frozen on the curb,
She smiles.
He looked at her,
And while pausing to wipe the sweat out of his eyes,
He smiles.
They never made it out that day.
But one year later,
Staring at a dainty diamond ring,
Uncut, unaccustomed,
She smiles,
Remembering the day they fell in love.

Valentine's Day in NYC
....tickets to go up to the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING!!! He had never been before, and I think that that is something that everyone should get a chance to do. Keep in mind, I am deathly afraid of heights. I hate heights. So, I was nervous about this the whole day. But, I knew I had to do it. I knew he had to see the view. I had seen it when I was about 10 years old, and I remember loving it. Now that I am older, I have more anxiety about tall buildings and heights. Especially after 9/11. Anyway, this was a huge deal for me. The fact that I faced my fear and went up there says a lot about how much S means to me, and how trusting I am of him. I knew that with him, I'd be okay. He was surprised that I did it, and I was surprised at myself too. I am so glad I did.Friday, February 12, 2010
Roses, Dance, & Photobooth

A few hours ago, a man came and rang my door. I opened it, and was surprised with a bouquet of roses from S!! My heart hasn't stopped pounding. I was dancing and jumping and twirling and bouncing and running and spinning and hopping all over the house. That's when I decided, I better dance... to get my energy out.
