I hate being sick. I have a bad cold. I blame it on all the little kids that I work with now. It seems as though one or two of the kids are always sick in my classroom. I swear my throat has never hurt so much in my life. It kept me up all night, but I just took a pretty long morning nap after Scott left for work. He's such a sweetie, he got me gatorade and chocolate chip muffins from the store... =)
Tonight, him and I are going to the casino...again. This time to watch a basketball game. Connecticut Sun basketball... you know... I posted about them last time. I want to join their dance team. I'm excited to go and watch them again. I mostly like going just for the dance team!
Tomorrow night there is a car show in the city that I live in now. Scott is bringing his 1957 Chevy Belair to the show. We are both very excited. This car is his pride and joy. I can't wait. I just hope that the rain holds out.
Looks like we may be heading up to Maine this weekend for a small weekend getaway! It would be nice for Scott to see how beautiful Maine is in the summer.
Mrs. Lathrop's estate sale was over the weekend. I walked into her house for the last time on Saturday. Scott went with me. It makes me sad that he never met her. She would have loved him. It seemed like everything of hers was being sold. Furniture, silverware, knick knacks, jewelry, even clothes and shoes.... and tons and tons and tons of dance costumes and costume jewelry. The mountain of costume jewelry was endless.
It was bittersweet. Walking around the house collecting things that I thought may remind me of her. I took a necklace, a picture, 2 dancer figurines, a dancer angel keychain, a makeup bag, a jewelry box, and a small chair.
It made me sad to hear people say, "So who was this lady anyway?"
Who was she???
I remember saying out loud, "She was everything... to some an inspiration, to me, my guiding light".
Cheesy? Maybe.. True? Definitely.

I miss you Mrs. Lathrop ..
...and as she would always say...
Keep Smiling,
Karla
